Hey Friends!
Hi, I’m Nikki—the dyer and yarn lover behind Yarn Texas.
If there’s yarn nearby, there’s a pretty good chance I’m knitting a pair of socks. One of my favorite ways to spend a day is on the boat with my husband—he fishes while I knit, which I think is a pretty perfect arrangement.

We share our life with our 3 dogs. They’re included in just about everything we do and are never too far away from whatever project I happen to be working on.
Texas has always been home, but work took us to New York for ten years. Last year, we finally made our way back, and it feels so good to be home. After a decade away, I think I appreciate this place more than ever—the wide-open spaces, the people, the landscapes, the slower moments, and yes, even those unbelievably hot Texas summers.
My love for yarn and my love for Texas came together in Yarn Texas. I wanted to create something that felt like home: beautiful hand-dyed yarn inspired by this state, a place to celebrate Texas makers, and most of all, a welcoming community for people who simply love making things.
I’m so glad you found your way here.
